"30 to 40% more business": thanks to the fireworks in Fréjus and Saint-Raphaël, business is booming

Every summer, the fireworks displays in Fréjus and Saint-Raphaël attract thousands of spectators to the coast. Shopkeepers and hoteliers see a significant increase in their turnover, sometimes up to 50%.
Crowded terraces, queues outside ice cream parlors, fully booked hotels: with every fireworks display, the local economy ignites as much as the sky. Testimonies gathered from waterfront restaurant and hotel owners confirm a clear trend: these festive events are an undeniable economic driver for the summer season.
"30 or 40% more"In Fréjus , as in Saint-Raphaël , the professionals are not mistaken: on fireworks nights, customers flock in massive numbers. Francis, manager of the Escurial in Fréjus, notes "30 to 40% more business" when the seafront comes alive. The same observation is made by Ahmed, manager of 737 boulevard, who observes an increase of "between 20 and 30%" , particularly during key dates like July 14.
At the Hôtel des Palmiers, Emmanuel Quarteroni even speaks of a "peak of 30 to 50% additional turnover in just three hours," or around €2,000 in additional revenue. In Saint-Raphaël, Nora, from the brasserie La Rotonde, goes further: her turnover "doubles" on these evenings. Charlotte Tagliani, manager of the Hôtel Excelsior, also confirms "20 to 25% more business," notably thanks to special menus and a higher average basket. Overall, all the testimonies converge: a fireworks display is synonymous with full terraces, restaurants stormed, and hotels strengthening their appeal to a clientele seduced by the spectacle.
While figures vary by establishment, a common trend is emerging: fireworks are not just entertainment, but a real tourist and economic driver for the coast. Restaurant owners speak of "beautiful evenings" where tables fill with local customers, as well as visitors from the surrounding area. Hoteliers, for their part, benefit from increased visibility and sometimes adapt their offerings to capture this exceptional demand.
These events reinforce the image of Fréjus and Saint-Raphaël as attractive summer destinations, where evening entertainment plays a key role in the local economy. This opinion is shared by shopkeepers, who hope to see these festive events multiply throughout the seasons.
